We always recommend having a will, but if you don’t have one (get a FREE WILL here) set up yet, the life insurance proceeds will still go to your designatedΒ beneficiaries on your life insurance or final expense life policy.
It is important to make sure you check and update the beneficiaries on your life insurance policy in case your situation has changed since you purchased the policy. More often than not, we see cases where a beneficiary initially set to spouse that is notΒ currently alive will cause the insurance benefit proceeds to be payable to the insured’sΒ “estate” instead which could cause delays.
Is the list of beneficiaries on your life insurance policy still current? If not, call your agent ASAP to make any changes.
