FAQ – LIFE INSURANCE

Frequently Asked Questions – Life Insurance

Q: Do I need to meet with an agent to start coverage?

A: No need to meet in person, you can start coverage securely ONLINE or BY PHONE (call 888-888-0188).

Q: When does my policy start?

A: Your coverage starts the day you make your first premium payment, after your policy is approved and issued.

Q: Will my rates ever increase?

A: No, your rate will be LOCKED-IN at your age when purchasing your policy and will NEVER INCREASE for life.

Q: Can I increase my benefit in the future?

A: Yes, contact your agent or call 888-888-0188 to ask about increasing your coverage.

Q: Can my children pay for my policy?

A: Yes, your children or a beneficiary can be the payor on your policy.

Q: Can I make a charity donation with my life insurance policy?

A: YES, you can use your life insurance benefit as a charitable donation to any charity of your choice, church, cause or non-profit organization.

Q: Will the benefit be taxed?

A: Life insurance proceeds are generally non-taxable and not taxed as an estate.

Q: What can the money / insurance proceeds be used for?

A: The beneficiary decides how to spend the proceeds. Funeral expenses, debt, vacation, savings – absolutely no limitation on how the money can be used.

Q: Can I be denied coverage?

A: No, everyone is APPROVED no matter what the health condition (if you’re between the ages 18-85, some plans available to issue before age 91). Even if you have some major health issues we can still offer certain coverage plans (Guaranteed Issue Whole Life is available even with health problems – if you purchase before age 85).

Q: Will I have a waiting period on my policy?

A: 90% of our clients DO NOT have a “waiting period” on their policy, which means benefits are payable DAY ONE if something happens to them. For the 10% of clients that do not qualify for immediate benefits, a 2-years “waiting period” may apply. Speak with an agent for more details.

Q: What is the “waiting period” on my policy?

A: If you’re one of the 10% of our clients that don’t qualify for immediate benefit due to current health, you’ll still be offered coverage with a 2-year “waiting period” which will REFUND ALL PREMIUMS PAID plus interest if death occurs due to illness in the first 2 policy years, but still has IMMEDIATE FULL BENEFIT for death due to accident. After the initial 2 policy years, FULL BENEFIT is payable for death due to illness or accident.

Q: What payment methods can I use?

A: We accept payments by EFT/ monthly bank draft for all plans, and some plans may also accept payment by credit or debit cards. No money orders or cash!

Q: Is this coverage TERM LIFE or WHOLE LIFE?

A: The final expense life is a WHOLE LIFE with fixed rates FOR LIFE and no termination date, unlike Term life which has a termination date after 10, 15 or 20 years. We recommend whole life for lifetime benefits needs for long-term, and sometimes recommend term for temporary needs like mortgages, covering a debt or other short-term needs.

Q: Can I still get coverage if I tested positive for COVID-19?

A: Yes, everyone can get coverage no matter what the health situation (ages 18-85 can get GUARANTEED ISSUE plans;ย  some health conditions accepted for clients ages 86-90).

Q: I was denied coverage by other companies before. Will FamilyCareLife deny me as well?

A: No, you will be accepted GUARANTEED (if you’re between ages 18-85)! We have options available for anyone, no matter what their health conditions. Just tell us what your health situation is, to figure out your correct rates (some health conditions may require slightly higher rate).

Q: What if I change my mind and want to cancel my policy?

A: You can cancel your policy at any time and coverage will terminate after the last month when premium was paid.ย  We even offer a “Free look” period of 30-DAYS MONEY BACK GUARANTEE if you decide to cancel in the first 30 days from application. We want to make sure you are 100% SATISFIED with your coverage.
